USM Welcomes Monika Buchanan

Monika Buchanan recently joined USM as Health, Safety & Environmental Workers' Compensation Manager. She earned her B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Health with a minor in Environmental Hazards and Emergency Management from Millersville University of PA. Prior to that, she earned her RN Diploma and practiced nursing in Europe.

Monika has interests in Natural Disaster Studies and participated in a National Science Foundation research study conducted in Thailand after the tsunami disaster in 2004. She is a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and AIHA (American Industrial Hygiene Association). She is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Alvernia University in Reading, PA
