USM Supports Local Communities in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

EMCOR Company Community Involvement Committee Supports Employee Volunteer Efforts for Local Charities

NORRISTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA, November 22, 2011 - A Community Involvement Committee formed by USM is currently supporting several local charities, with company employee volunteers donating time to collect and donate goods to local food banks, homeless shelters, local schools, and other community organizations in its headquarters town of Norristown, and throughout Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Recent activities of the USM Community Involvement Committee include:

  • Norristown Family Food Drive – USM collected over 5,000 non-perishables that were donated to the Patrician Society.
  • Operation WOW (Wishes of Warmth) – USM is currently collecting winter clothing to donate to the ACLAMO Family Center in Norristown.
  • Laurel House – First aid kit supplies were provided to Laurel House in Norristown in conjunction with the Coordinated Homeless Outreach Center of Montgomery County.
  • Title 1 Schools – USM has donated office supplies to schools, including East Norriton, Eisenhower, and Stewart Middle Schools, and Hancock Elementary School.

Additionally, USM recently announced an expansion of EMCOR's national Taking KidSafety To The Street™ Program --- which has helped recover 225+ missing children since its launch in 2005 in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children®. Images of local missing children are now featured on vehicle posters on USM vehicles across the state and USM has offered such vehicle posters free to businesses for display by them.

This program has made a difference in communities across the country, where EMCOR employees live, work and raise their families. I'm hopeful it will help the people of Pennsylvania, as well." Mr. Dubow commented at the ceremony to announce the program, which included senior EMCOR executives and C. Alan Walker, Secretary, Pennsylvania State Department of Community and Economic Development.
