USM & Montgomery County Commissioners' Office To Host Ribbon Cutting

Saturday, 24 October 2009
NORRISTOWN, PA – October 23, 2009 – USM, formerly US Maintenance, a national leader in facilities maintenance and management services, along with the Montgomery County Commissioners’ office will host a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 at 1 p.m to kick off construction on USM’s new National headquarters.

Slated to open in late 2010, the development of USM’s new facility was made possible in part by a grant from the Montgomery County’s Countywide Strategic Economic Development Program. This program has set aside approximately $20 million towards the revitalization of older communities in Montgomery County, including Norristown.

The new USM location, located at 1800 Markley Street, Norristown, PA, 19401, will be approximately 80,000SF and will offer features such as glass-front offices, spacious low-profile workstations, and various “green” amenities. The new building is being designed to achieve Silver LEED Certification for the Core & Shell and Commercial Interior. The project is being developed by DEVELCOM.

USM is looking to engage up to 100 people with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform functions in their service center, procurement and strategic sourcing department, account management group, quality control and finance groups. They expect to create over 200 new jobs in the next five years in Norristown, bringing the total number of employees located in Norristown to approximately 500 people. These job opportunities will continue to stimulate the local economy and bring the best and the brightest to Norristown.

CEO George Spink, along with County Commissioners James R. Matthews, Joseph M. Hoeffel and Bruce L. Castor, Jr. will participate in the ceremony to celebrate the redevelopment. The public is invited to attend the event.

The Ribbon Cutting ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. at USM’s new national headquarters located at 1800 Markley Street, Norristown, PA 19401.
