US Maintenance changes name to USM, re-aligns divisions and prepares for growth
Friday, 10 October 2008Norristown, PA — US Maintenance, the leader in facilities maintenance and management services has changed its name to USM. US Maintenance has evolved over the years, and the new name brings together all of the companies that have made USM what it is today. The new name positions USM for the evolution of the company as one team with capabilities beyond maintenance. The new name also allows USM to leverage the equity of the US Maintenance brand while positioning the company for future growth beyond the U.S. borders and into other parts of North America. A new tagline “Partners for Change” supports the company’s brand promise. The brand promise reflects USM as a company that offers experience and expertise that is structured to meet the specific needs of their clients. A proactive partnership approach to business means USM is able to make a real difference for their clients.

US Maintenance has always provided the finest service possible, and now we are positioned to provide that same level of service for all aspects of our clients’ facility needs as USM.”
All of the company’s service lines and regional offices will operate under the new USM name. This move will help to eliminate the confusion that came with having the company’s individual brand names in the marketplace. The current service lines include floor care & janitorial services, exterior services, HVAC Services, roofing Services, electrical services, and R&M services. The breadth of the company’s service offering supports the Partners for Change message.
While all offices will begin to identify as USM, store procedures, dial in numbers, and contract/account managers will remain the same. The people, processes, and procedures will all remain the same.
To support the new name, in the coming weeks USM will be updating its website and changing the URL to www.usmservices.com. All company email addresses will also be updated with the new domain, but old addresses will redirect to the new addresses.
This change follows recent acquisitions over the past few years--the first of US Maintenance by Transfield Services, Australia, in July 2006 and the subsequent acquisitions of Whelan’s International and Horizon National Contract Services, both U.S. companies, in December 2007 by US Maintenance. While all companies had strong reputations and were known for quality service, becoming USM allows the company to move forward as an even stronger brand and a service provider with greater capabilities and a greater geographic reach.
